Chicago Bulls Receive: G Collin Sexton
Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: G Coby White, CHI 2021 2nd Round Pick, CHI 2022 1st Round Pick (Pick Swap, More Favorable to CLE), CHI 2024 1st Round Pick (Top-5 Protected), CHI 2026 1st Round Pick (unprotected)
If the Bulls are going to make a play at Collin Sexton, they are going to have to be prepared to give up a ton of draft assets. Sexton is the Cavaliers’ best player and he is not going to come at a cheap price, regardless if he is in the final year of his contract or not.
With two years left on his deal and the potential to also fit in nicely next to Darius Garland, Coby White would be an interesting player for the Cavs to acquire if they were to trade Sexton. In his first two seasons in the league, Coby White has averaged 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and has shot 35.7% from three-point range.

Given his athleticism, White could definitely fit in with the Cavaliers, but the question is whether or not this is something that the Cavs would want to do. They definitely want to bring back Collin Sexton and Jarrett Allen to long-term deals, but with Kevin Love’s massive contract, they really cannot afford to sign them both to $100M+ deals unless they are willing to pay a bunch of taxes on a team that is not in the playoffs.
Coby White and Collin Sexton both share a similar style of play, using their athleticism to their advantage, which is why the Cavaliers could be intrigued by adding White to their roster if they were to explore trade opportunities for Sexton.
With that said, let’s look at this trade from both team’s perspective and truly see if this is something that both teams should look to do in the offseason.
