As part of his end of the season press conference on Monday, GM Bob Myers addressed the future of James Wiseman with the Warriors and shot down all NBA rumors that the Warriors would look to move the #2 overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft.

Wiseman did not have a great rookie season, and his season ended short after just 39 games due to a torn meniscus in his right knee, but Golden State is high on the development of Wiseman and they truly believe that he can develop into a key piece to their championship puzzle.
Myers fully believes that James Wiseman will be in a Warriors’ jersey next season and had this to say about the rookie’s future:
“I think he can help us. I expect him to be on the team next year. We don’t want to trade James Wiseman. I think he is a tremendous talent. He was put in a position where the guy has, hopefully, taken all of his lumps early in his career. I think he can be very helpful to us in the future and I think he can be helpful in the present. We plan on him being on the team. We are very confident he is going to be a good player and help us win next year.”
The center position has always been a struggle for the Warriors throughout the years, as Kevon Looney has been the only consistent center on their roster over the years, but Wiseman is the future of this franchise and if they end up with Minnesota’s first-round pick this year, they could add even more young talent to pair with Wiseman for the foreseeable future.

The future of James Wiseman with the Warriors was definitely something that needed to be addressed by Bob Myers in his press conference and based on what was said, Wiseman is not going to be going anywhere anytime soon.
