Stephen Curry’s new contract-extension
Ahead of the 2017-18 season, Stephen Curry signed a mega five-year, $201.1M contract-extension to remain with the Golden State Warriors and after waiting til this offseason to discuss the terms of a new deal, Curry and the Warriors will work out a deal to make him the first player in NBA history to receive two $200M+ contracts during his career.

People can talk all they want about Stephen Curry leaving the Warriors and competing for titles elsewhere, but to Steph and the Warriors, these are laughable rumors as both sides will look to get a deal done at some point this offseason.
When asked by the media on Monday about Curry’s future with Golden State and upcoming contract-extension talks, Bob Myers said the following:
“I don’t see any reason not to be optimistic. He seems like he’s motivated, we’re motivated. I would say pretty confident we’ll get something done.”
Assuming the Warriors and Stephen Curry can reach an agreement on another long-term deal, he would avoid becoming an unrestricted free agent following the 2021-22 season and the Warriors could turn their focus to finding more talent to add to their roster this offseason, even though they will not have virtually any room to sign any player to anything more than a minimum contract.
The two-time NBA MVP and finalist for the MVP this year had a career-year with Golden State, averaging 32.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and shooting 42.1% from three-point range, winning the scoring title for the second-time in his career.
Much to the dislike of non-Warriors fans, Stephen Curry is not going anywhere anytime soon and both he and the Warriors are going to get another long-term contract-extension done at some point this summer.
