Marcus Smart has played really well for the Celtics
Despite Boston’s two losses in Game 1 and 2 of this series, Marcus Smart has actually played quite well for the Celtics. In Game 1, he played 40 minutes and scored 17 points on 6-13 shooting from the floor and in Game 2, he played 32 minutes and scored 19 points on 6-13 shooting again, including 5 made three-pointers.

Smart has seemed to be the only guy to step up with Jaylen Brown being out and this is a good sign for the Celtics. There have been a lot of question marks surrounding this offseason for the Celtics and the potential moves they could make, Marcus Smart being involved in a lot of NBA trade rumors.
Right now, he is playing some great two-way basketball and if he keeps this up, his value will be higher than initially imagined heading into the offseason, giving Boston the potential to move him for more value than expected.
Even if they keep him, Smart playing this well is a great sign because they need all of the production they can get offensively heading into next season. Jayson Tatum had a great season, as did Jaylen Brown, but everybody else on this Celtics roster needs to be better next season, Smart included.
The fact that he is shooting really well and still playing like an All-Defensive player is a really good sign for the Celtics, even though they are struggling big-time in this series.
