The Celtics fought hard in Game 1 against the Nets in their NBA playoff matchup, ultimately losing 104-93 and in Game 2, they were not close to beating the Nets at any point in the game besides when it was tied at 0-0! Brooklyn came out of the gates hot in Game 2 against the Celtics, dropping 40 points in the first quarter and coasting to a 130-108 victory.
Now, Brooklyn leads the series 2-0 with the next two games being played in Boston, but this series may be all but over at this point. The Nets’ “Big 3” has looked unstoppable at times during this series and given that Joe Harris had 25 points in Game 2, this is not a good sign for the Celtics.

Losing Jaylen Brown for the year has left a huge hole for this team and given how everything has panned out this year, it just does not look like Boston has much fight left in them. Maybe getting back home and playing in front of their own fans will give them some energy and fight to possibly steal a game in this series, but right now, it seems like the Nets are in “cruise control” enroute to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
There is not really any other way to describe Game 2 between the Celtics and Nets other than saying that it was a complete beatdown for the Nets. Their “Big 3” combined for 61 total points and with Joe Harris knocking down 7 three-pointers in the game, it just seemed like Brooklyn was scoring every possession down the court.
Boston has a lot of work to do if they are to even win a game in this series, but there are some things we can pull from Game 2 to predict how the rest of this series plays out. With that said, let’s take a look at the three biggest takeaways from Game 2 between the Celtics and Nets.
