The Portland Trail Blazers came out hot in Game 1 of this NBA playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, stealing a game on the road, but the Denver Nuggets were locked in for Game 2 on Monday night and took the fight to Portland.

Early on, Denver got off to a fast start and while the Trail Blazers battled back, the Nuggets never gave them enough momentum to pull out in front in this game. As a result, the Nuggets won Game 2 against the Blazers 128-109 and will head to Portland tied at one game a piece in the series.

Nikola Jokic had another spectacular game against Portland, scoring 38 points and adding 8 rebounds, 5 assists to his name as well, but the play of the rest of the team is what separated Denver in this one.

Guys like Facundo Campazzo, Austin Rivers, Monte Morris and Paul Millsap really stepped up for Denver in this game, as these four guys combined for 48 points on 17-33 shooting, including 4-11 from three-point range.

This seems like the type of series that has the potential to go to a decisive Game 7, but there is still a lot of basketball yet to be played before we potentially get to that point. Both Denver and Portland have a lot to build off of Game 2, so let’s take a look at the biggest takeaways from this second game between the Trail Blazers and Nuggets.
