The Pacers need to stick to moving the ball on the perimeter and taking three-point shots

In Tuesday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets, the Indiana Pacers not only put up 144 points, but they did so because of how well they shot the ball on the perimeter. In total, they went 16-35 from three-point range, shooting roughly 45.7% from deep.

During the regular season, Indiana made about 12.3 three-point shots per game, which ranked them 18th in the league in three-point shots made per game, but they have found a lot of success as of late when they make 10+ three’s.

In their last four wins against the Hornets, the Raptors, the 76ers and the Cavaliers, Indiana made 16, 15, 14 and 11 three-point shots respectively in those games. In their last four losses, the Pacers failed to make 10+ three-pointers in three of those four games.

When Indiana is making their shots from deep, specifically their role players, they look like the team we all thought that they would be at the beginning of the year, which is what we saw in Tuesday night’s game against the Hornets.

Continuing to spread the ball on offense and find open guys on the perimeter for three-point shots needs to be a focal point for the Pacers moving forward and needs to be something they look to do in their matchup against the Wizards on Thursday.
