Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: Ben Simmons
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Darius Garland, Larry Nance Jr, Taurean Prince, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2023 1st Round Pick, 2025 1st Round Pick
Ben Simmons would be the centerpiece of this deal going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers in this particular NBA trade scenario. It would certainly shock the Eastern Conference to see this happen because of the loyalty that the franchise is head to their point out over the years.
It would also prove that the Philadelphia 76ers are fully committed to building around Joel Embiid and getting a point guard that can shoot from deep. While they would undoubtedly lose the on-ball defensive prowess that Simmons brings to their team, there are a variety of intriguing ways they’d be a different team in a positive way overall.

Like Collin Sexton, Darius Garland has shown that he is a productive player in the backcourt since being drafted by the Cavaliers. He could blossom in a larger role with the 76ers, especially one that would enable him playing alongside a dynamic force that commands so much defensive attention in Joel Embiid. The Sixers also get Larry Nance Jr. and Taurean Prince, along with two first-round picks in the future.
From a financial standpoint, the Cavaliers would be shouldering the max deal that Ben Simmons signed with the 76ers. That would be a real benefit for Cleveland when considering he is signed through the 2024-25 season and would be a long-term building block. As for the 76ers, they’d free up salary cap space to build around Embiid further.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this day would benefit both sides right away.
