JaVale McGee – Cleveland Cavaliers
Building off the idea of going out and getting a center, JaVale McGee would also be a huge addition for the Brooklyn Nets and the Nets have expressed interest in him for weeks now. Ever since they acquired Jarrett Allen from the Nets in January, the Cavaliers have been looking to move some of the talent in their frontcourt and JaVale McGee has drawn a ton of interest around the league.
While Mason Plumlee would be a great trade target for the Nets to add even more offensive firepower, adding JaVale McGee gives Brooklyn a reliable shot-blocker and helps improve this team defensively, which is the area they lack talent in.
Brooklyn does not really have a reliable shot-blocker and “bruiser” in the paint, which is why adding McGee makes sense. He is only owed $4.2M this season and is a proven champion, not to mention he has a strong relationship with Kevin Durant dating back to their championship days with the Golden State Warriors.

JaVale McGee is a really underrated center in this league because he does not get enough appreciation for what he does on both ends of the court. He is only playing about 15 minutes per game this season, but is averaging 7.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
He thrives being a high-motor big man and in pick-and-roll situations, which is exactly the role he would play with the Nets should they trade for him. JaVale McGee should absolutely be at the top of the Nets’ trade target list and it should not be a surprise to see Brooklyn look to acquire him ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.
