Andre Drummond – Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers have been shopping Andre Drummond for weeks now and while he has not been traded yet, Cleveland will continue to look to get a deal done before this year’s NBA trade deadline. With him being owed $28.7M this season in the final year of his contract, not many teams could absorb this kind of a contract, but the Knicks have the cap space and financial flexibility to do so.
If Andre Drummond does not get traded and is bought out of his contract, the Knicks will virtually have no shot to sign the former All-Star center since some championship contenders and Drummond have mutual interest in one another, which is why they should look to execute a trade for him if they really do want him.
In 25 games with the Cavaliers this year, Andre Drummond averaged 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and shot 47.4% from the floor. Not only could he be that third impactful player the Knicks need, but making this trade could give New York one of the best frontcourts in the league with Drummond and Randle.

Not only is he a double-double machine, but Drummond can make the Knicks a better defensive team than they already are and give them even more stability on their roster. Mitchell Robinson is still a young talent that is growing and having an experienced, former All-Star to learn from in Drummond could help make him an even better player as he continues to develop.
Much like getting Aaron Gordon, if the Knicks make this trade, then they would solidify their playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but the only question is if they are willing to give up some assets for a “half-a-year” rental of Andre Drummond before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
