Why This Trade Would Benefit The San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs missed the postseason for the first time in 22 years down in the NBA Bubble. This is something that they clearly wanted to avenge. San Antonio is currently 22-17 in the Western Conference and is the seven seed. They have been led by their veterans but because of contracts could look to make some blockbuster moves.

DeMar DeRozan leads the team in scoring with 20.3 points per game. Both Dejounte Murray and Keldon Johnson are right behind him. They are the future of the franchise and the players that San Antonio should build around. They can do this by adding some more three-point shooting.

This is where Otto Porter Jr. would come into play. He is shooting 40.7% from beyond the arc this season in just 22 games. This is an area that the Spurs could look to improve upon. If they are able to send Aldridge away in the deal, it is a bonus.
