Why This Trade Would Benefit The Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls have been seen in NBA trade rumors sending away some of their bigger names, such as Zach LaVine and Markkanen. In this deal, they would be acquiring one on an expiring contract. Otto Porter Jr. is also in the final year of his deal where he is being paid $28 million. This is the original benefit for the Bulls.
LaMarcus Aldridge is making less money, even though not by much. He is a veteran player that can still get it done from the mid-range. Chicago would have a decision to make at the end of the season.
Aldridge would have to take less money in a new deal. He would be a mentor and leader for younger big men such as Wendell Carter Jr. This is a move that could land the Bulls a coach on the floor and a player that will draw attention.

It is unknown if the Bulls will re-sign Otto Porter Jr. If they do not feel the need, then it will be a huge benefit to send him away before he can leave in free agency for nothing.
