Derrick Rose Is A Talented Contributor
Adding Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks is flat out a pure move to land some extra talent. The Knicks, despite having some great talent on their roster, have struggled to win games consistently and adding an established veteran like Derrick Rose could help them out tremendously.
Rose will add a strong bench presence for the New York Knicks and he will be one of the more reliable weapons in that aspect of the team. Immanuel Quickley has played an important role and has shown promise, but the other guards have been underwhelming. Dennis Smith Jr., in particular, wasn’t someone that was going to contribute much.
Rose is averaging over 22 minutes per game and in those minutes he’s been putting up 14.2 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, and 4.2 assists per game. He’s producing impressive results that could help the Knicks with their pursuit of a playoff spot.
If you couple Rose’s strong numbers with his 42.9 field goal percentage and his 33.3 three point field goal percentage; you soon realize the Knicks got a very good role player. The Knicks’ head coach may have some history with Rose, but this trade was a pure way to add some more talent to the team.
