Why This Trade Would Benefit The New York Knicks
Knicks fans finally have a watchable team. This does not mean they are going to make the playoffs or compete long term. It means that a fan can finally sit down and watch a professional basketball team. This is because they finally hired the right coach. Tom Thibodeau has the Knicks playing hard, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Now, the team needs some good players.
Randle and Barrett are a good start. Barrett is averaging 17.4 points per game this season but has struggled with his jump shot. He is shooting just 42.1% from the field and 28% from three-point range. These numbers will have to improve over time.
Quickley is still a rookie and would benefit from a veteran voice in the locker room and on the floor. Bledsoe could be that option. The Knicks would not have to give up much here. They would hold onto their first-round picks, which are the important ones. Knox being sent away is inevitable and would help both sides.
The Knicks’ front office needs to make some good moves that they hit on. This franchise has hired, drafted, and signed the wrong people for years. It is time to flip the switch and become a competent franchise moving forward.
