This Knicks-Pelicans trade features Eric Bledsoe to New York

The New York Knicks are off to a 9-11 start this NBA season. This was a team that was predicted to win, at most, 25 games in 2020-21. They are on pace for more but it is unlikely unless they improve at some important positions. The point guard position is one that has stuck out.

New York has not had a strong point guard in what feels like decades. In a league that is drive by the position, the Knicks have struggled to become relevant. This season, Julius Randle is having an All-Star season averaging 22.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

The Knicks have a young core that is having a strong season led by RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson. It comes down to the fact that the Knicks need to add a superstar at some point. Eric Bledsoe is not that star but he is a veteran point guard who would help the team immediately.

This would also help the New Orleans Pelicans. Brandon Ingram signed an extension this offseason to remain in New Orleans. Ingram and Zion Williamson are the future of the Pelicans. They have been mentioned in NBA trade rumors because of their willingness to trade their veteran players. This began when Jrue Holiday was sent to Milwaukee. Players like JJ Redick and Eric Bledsoe could be next. Bledsoe is averaging 13.1 points per game for the Pelicans since coming over.

If New Orleans is selling at the NBA trade deadline, there are some players that will be on the move. Lonzo Ball is another name to keep an eye on. Let’s take a look and see how Bledsoe could end up in New York.
