Why This Trade Would Benefit The New Orleans Pelicans
Eric Bledsoe was part of the deal that sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks. He has made 15 starts for the Pelicans and is playing well. At age 31, Bledsoe has some good years left and the Pelicans could look to take advantage of any value he has left.
The Pelicans have a plan for the future and Bledsoe is not apart of it. They are clearly trying to get younger. This is why we might see Redick get traded as well. New Orleans will be listening to offers for Ball but have made it clear that they want a hefty return.
If they can flip Bledsoe for first-round picks, no matter where they fall, it would be a huge win. They would get back a shooter like Knox who is improving but struggles with consistency. He would benefit the most from a change of scenery. Knox has not performed well on the Knicks and is considered a bust. That is a tough title to let go of in New York.
There is a chance of the Pelicans making this deal because of the return they would get for a 31-year old point guard. It makes all the sense in the world for the team to at least listen to offers.
