Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers
This is not a trade the Lakers need to make and it is certainly one that will be questioned, especially with the start that Montrezl Harrell is off to. We have seen in the past that James likes to surround himself with players he knows well and is comfortable with. That is Tristan Thompson.
Tristan Thompson would not have to play as big of a role as he did during his years with the Cavaliers. He would join Anthony Davis in the frontcourt and make a unit that is difficult to score on.
Despite having limitations offensively, Tristan Thompson is still a strong rebounder on both ends and can score in the post. It would provide the Lakers with another bruiser down low. Los Angeles would also get back an intriguing prospect in Aaron Nesmith.
At this point, it is difficult to argue anymore that the Lakers make. This is also because LeBron James will have a hand in the decisions. If he wants to get some more familiar players, it will get done.
