This Lakers-Timberwolves trade features D’Angelo Russell to L.A.

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to win their second straight NBA championship and are off to a good start. Los Angeles currently sits at 14-4 and is one of the top teams in the Western Conference. This was to be expected coming into the season and they are the real deal once again. Moving forward, the Lakers could look for some more help along the perimeter.

LeBron James leads the Lakers once again averaging 25.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game this season. He is playing at an MVP level, along with Anthony Davis. Montrezl Harrell and Dennis Schroder have been welcomed additions that the organization signed in free agency. As a team, the Lakers are shooting 38.9% from three-point range.

The Lakers are efficient on both ends this season. There have been rumors saying that Los Angeles could be interested in adding another star to the roster. This would make sense along the perimeter.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that could help out and it begins with D’Angelo Russell. He currently leads the team with 20.5 points per game in 14 games, 13 of them being starts. Minnesota used the first pick in the draft on Anthony Edwards and he is looking like a franchise player moving forward.

Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best big men in the game but has played just four games this season. The Timberwolves have a chance to make some moves and rebuild the roster even further.

At 4-12, this season has already gotten away from Minnesota. If they want to blow things up, it could begin by sending Russell to Los Angeles.
