Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have been very vocal about wanting to acquire a third star player to add to their core of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant and the addition of LaMarcus Aldridge would fit perfectly. The Nets currently have Jarrett Allen starting at center with DeAndre Jordan backing him up, but Aldridge would be a better player than both of them.
The nice thing about LaMarcus Aldridge is his ability to play both center and power forward. Even if the Nets did want to actively go after Aldridge, Jarrett Allen wouldn’t necessarily have to give up his starting spot. It could also serve as a reasonable out to move on from DeAndre Jordan.
Aldridge could fill a valuable presence in the frontcourt with his jump shooting ability while providing some size. Kevin Durant has been on and off the court with injuries this season so that opens up the need for a player like Aldridge even more.
If the Nets went out and snagged a guy like LaMarcus Aldridge, it would add versatility and star power to a needy Nets squad. There wouldn’t be a long-term commitment needed with the move either.
