This Lakers-Hornets trade would feature L.A taking risk on Malik Monk

Why The Trade Benefits The Hornets

Charlotte is full of options on the perimeter. Just like for the Lakers, this is not a trade that will excite many Hornets fans, but it could balance them out on both ends of the floor.

The Hornets are extremely deep on the perimeter, which has sparked some rumors of players like Devonte’ Graham or Terry Rozier being sent away. With the start that Rozier is off to, it is hard to imagine Charlotte parting ways with their point guard.

Malik Monk being traded would allow the Hornets to move one of their point guards to the wing and play off the ball primarily. This is a move looking to the future for Charlotte.

They would be able to add some size to their roster and get some draft capital in a deal such as this one. It seems to check all the boxes for the rebuilding team.
