James Harden is still a member of the Houston Rockets. Despite many NBA trade rumors during the offseason, he is still in Houston leading the team as he has done for years now. This does not mean that he will be there by season’s end. One team that stands out as an intriguing landing spot is the Memphis Grizzlies.
It is hard to imagine that the relationship between Harden and the Rockets has improved from what it once was. There has been many teams involved in trade talks, led by the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets.
Both of those teams have been out of the race in recent weeks which means other teams will have to step up to the plate. This is where a team like the Memphis Grizzlies could come in to play.
The Grizzlies missed out on the postseason down in Orlando after losing the play-in game to the Portland Trailblazers. They have a bona fide superstar in second-year point guard Ja Morant, who will serve as the leader of the franchise for years to come. If they were to land a player like Harden, they could quickly become one of the top duos in the NBA.
Let’s take a closer look and see how a potential blockbuster deal might get done between these two sides.
