Why This Trade Would Benefit The Houston Rockets

When looking at the potential benefit of this trade for the Houston Rockets, it is simple. James Harden remains to be one of the top players in the NBA and trading him away would send them a massive return in hopes of reshaping their roster.

When a player is disgruntled, it benefits the team to send them away. The new look front office in Houston could be looking to make a splash and trading Harden would do just that.

This would follow the trade where they sent Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall. DeMarcus Cousins is also a member of the Rockets and along with Wall, the former Kentucky teammates will leave the franchise moving forward.

The Rockets would get many productive players from Memphis in this deal along with three first-round picks. That is a boatload in return for a few players, with one being Harden. It would be difficult deal for Memphis to turn down if it comes up.
