The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the teams that made huge moves during the NBA offseason. They brought in Daryl Morey to the front office and hired Doc Rivers as the new head coach. Both moves were warranted after seeing what Elton Brand has done to the team. So far, the front office made some moves to improve the roster but nothing that has caused a huge stir.
The Sixers were in need of help from beyond the three-point line and this is what they acquired. Philadelphia sent Al Horford to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a deal that landed them Danny Green. They also added Seth Curry, who is a threat from beyond the arc as well.
The new-look front office made it clear early on that they were not interested in trading either Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. The good news is that in this particular trade, they would be able to hang on to their two stars and add a third in hopes of moving up the standings in the Eastern Conference.
The perfect trade partner for the Sixers could be the Chicago Bulls. They are a rebuilding team with some big-name players they could be looking to send away. This seems like the perfect fit for a 76ers’ team that clearly needs some help advancing in the postseason. Zach LaVine and Lauri Markannen are two names that come to mind immediately. When looking at the Sixers, LaVine would be the better fit.
LaVine has turned into a legitimate star on the offensive side of the floor for Chicago. He would bring a different dynamic to the Sixers. This return might be able to get a deal done between the two sides.
