Brooklyn Nets Finish As No. 1 Team In Eastern Conference

The Brooklyn Nets finished 35-37 last season and got ousted in the first-round of the playoffs by the Toronto Raptors 4-0, so how could they possibly go from a losing record to one of the best records in the NBA? Well, they will have a guy named Kevin Durant fully healthy, along with a healthy Kyrie Irving.

Before injuring his Achilles in the 2019 NBA Finals, Kevin Durant was the most dominant basketball player on the planet and throughout his career, has established himself as one of the all-time greatest scorers in the history of the league. He won two championships with the Golden State Warriors from 2016-2018, including two Finals MVP awards.

Kyrie Irving is also fully healthy entering the 2020-21 NBA season after injuring his shoulder last season, resulting in him only playing in 20 games. With this All-Star duo back and fully healthy, as well as other role players around them in Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris and DeAndre Jordan, the Brooklyn Nets are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference and will be one of the best offensive teams in the NBA in recent years.

No matter who they give the ball to, they have about 8-9 guys in their rotation who could score in double-figures on any given night and can create plenty of mismatches for opponents due to their versatility in their rotations. Plenty of guys on their roster can play multiple positions and they may even roll out a two-guard lineup with Irving and Dinwiddie on the court at the same time with Kevin Durant at power-forward!

Steve Nash is a great person and has the potential to be a great coach, but if we are being honest, will he really have control of this team? This is KD’s and Kyrie’s and whatever they want the team to do on the court, they are going to make sure it is done. Steve Nash is technically the coach, but he will honestly act more like a veteran presence on this team and a great influence on the team’s younger players.

This team has NBA Championship aspirations and should definitely be one of the favorites to win the title throughout the 2020-21 NBA season, assuming both KD and Kyrie remain healthy. They are a much better team roster wise than the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors and should have no problem overtaking them as the best team in the Eastern Conference this season.
