Atlanta Hawks Double Their Wins From A Season Ago

Trae Young is unbelievable and at just 22-years of age and making his first All-Star appearance in his second season in the league, he will be the face of the franchise for the Hawks for the next couple of decades. John Collins is also one of the better, younger players in the league and at just 23-years old, he gives the Hawks two young, star-potential players to build around for the foreseeable future.

With these two as the faces of the franchise moving forward, and after failing to win more than 29 games the last three seasons, the Atlanta Hawks will be a 40+ win team this year and be a force in the Eastern Conference. Not only did they go out and get Young and Collins some perimeter help, but they brought in two of the best free agents on the market this offseason.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari headline the list of players the Hawks brought in this offseason and will not only take a lot of the scoring weight off of the shoulders of Trae Young and John Collins, but they will help make the Atlanta Hawks the best perimeter-oriented team in the NBA.

Not to mention, they also added veteran, championship point guard Rajon Rondo and rookie Onyeka Okongwu through the draft. Both of these guys will play huge roles defensively for the Hawks off the bench and could be the x-factors for them as this team makes their playoff push late in the year.

The Atlanta Hawks have over 8 guys on their roster this season who shot 33% or better from three-point range a season ago and with players like Kevin Huerter and Cam Reddish expected to take the next step in their young careers, this Hawks team could be extremely special and make a lot of noise in the Eastern Conference.

In my mind, they are without a doubt a playoff team this upcoming year as a result of their offseason moves and even if the season does not go the way they anticipate, they have set themselves up for future success and sustainability for years to come. The Atlanta Hawks are back and should be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference over the course of the next several years.
