Can Aaron Holiday Emerge As The Pacers’ Sixth Man?

Last season with the Pacers, Aaron Holiday saw his minutes increase by over 100% and his three-point production spiked close to 40% from deep. He played in 66 games for the Pacers, starting in about half of them, and was a key player off-the-bench who stepped up when the Pacers’ All-Star level players went down with injuries.

This season, Aaron Holiday is expected to take an even bigger step in his career due to his new head coach. Former Toronto Raptors’ assistant coach, Nate Bjorkgren was named the new head coach of the Pacers this offseason and was a great influence on the development of players like Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam.

With Oladipo’s future unknown and the Pacers needing players off their bench to step up given the injury problems this team has had over the years, Aaron Holiday seems like the guy Bjorkgren will focus on and could be primed to have a breakout third season in the league.

With opportunities and minutes up for grabs this season off-the-bench for the Indiana Pacers, expect to see Aaron Holiday step up and not only become the Sixth-Man for the Pacers but be a factor on both ends of the court.

Not only is he an impact shooter for the Pacers, but he is an overall playmaker and with all of the attention going to guys like Malcolm Brogdon, Victor Oladipo, and TJ Warren on the perimeter, Holiday is a guy who will slip under-the-radar and be an impact player for the Pacers this season.
