Devonte’ Graham Averages 20+ Points Per Game

After being one of the NBA’s most improved players last season, Devonte’ Graham has solidified himself as part of the Hornets’ core moving forward and will take on an even bigger role this year. With the focal point of attention going towards Gordon Hayward this year, Graham will likely see an increase in three-point opportunities and overall scoring.

The Hornets displayed their ability to play a two-guard lineup last season with both Graham and Terry Rozier on the court at the same time and they will likely play a similar style this season, throwing LaMelo Ball into the mix here and there. Ball comes in as the #3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and while he can be a factor scoring, he is more known for his passing abilities and finding his open teammates.

He is a much better overall player with a lot more potential as a passer than Terry Rozier and as a result, could lead in more opportunities and catch-and-shoot three-pointers for Devonte’ Graham as well. Whatever lineup the Hornets decide to go with at the start of the season, one thing that is for sure is that Graham will play a large role in it.

Devonte’ Graham led the Charlotte Hornets in scoring last season and as a result, will be one of the first guys they look to over the course of the 2020-21 season for offensive production. Bringing in more talent around Graham takes an enormous amount of pressure off of him and while he may take less shots this season, he will be able to capitalize on his opportunities at a higher rate.

Last season, Devonte’ Graham took about 15 shots per game and will have a lot of the weight taken off his shoulders to be the team’s main offensive weapon this year. His game will be able to expand more and with him taking fewer shots this year, Graham will be more effective on the offensive end of the court for the Charlotte Hornets.

After being a second-round pick that was slept on in 2018, Devonte’ Graham has turned himself into a great NBA player with a lot of potential and room for growth as he enters his third year in the NBA.
