The Washington Wizards caught the attention of many around the NBA by ending the John Wall era and subsequently acquiring Russell Westbrook via trade. Now, the team has an All-Star guard alongside Bradley Beal but next could use a stretch-five like Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers.
The goal for the Wizards will be to make a run at not only a spot in the Eastern Conference playoff picture but to go on a deep run while they’re there. Right now, there isn’t enough in the supporting cast to truly get the job done around Beal and Westbrook.
With new head coach Nate Bjorkgren, the Pacers will try the frontcourt pairing of Domantas Sabonis and Turner. This will buy the organization some time before having to decide on trading one of them in order to build a small ball unit with just a single big.
If the Pacers later decide it would be best to trade Turner, the Wizards should jump on the opportunity to acquire him. Washington needs to maintain the floor spacing they’ve thrived with offensively but need to improve significantly on defense— both of which Turner would help.
Let’s take a look a trade that would send Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner to the Washington Wizards.
