Cam Thomas delivered an exceptional performance with 38 points, including critical jumpers in overtime, leading the Brooklyn Nets to a 122-119 victory over the Washington Wizards, snapping their three-game winning streak. The game, filled with pivotal moments and impressive stats, was a testament to both teams’ determination.

“We took a good shot every time we went down in overtime, make or miss,” Thomas said. “So we’ll just live with that, and at the end of the day, we just got stops.”

Jordan Poole matched Thomas’s scoring output for the Wizards, notching a season-high 38 points himself. However, a missed 3-pointer from Poole in the game’s dying moments highlighted the razor-thin margin between victory and defeat.

“I feel like he’s been just more calm, hasn’t really been overdribbling,” Kyle Kuzma said of Poole. “I think he’s done a really good job of also playmaking.”

Nets interim coach Kevin Ollie praised Thomas, particularly for his role as a playmaker: “I’m playing him at the point some, I love him at the point, and he gets everybody involved. He’s doing a great job, to just give us another added dimension out there, if I can get him some minutes at the point.”

The match wasn’t just a showcase for Thomas and Poole; other players also put up significant numbers. Dennis Schroder contributed 21 points for the Nets, while Nic Claxton had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
