3. Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons currently hold the No. 7 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. They could be after a player like Obi Toppin, if he falls, or Onyeka Okongwu but the team could really use a playmaking guard in the backcourt. Hayes is that type of prospect.

Blake Griffin is under contract for one more season in Detroit. If healthy, he is still a top-level player who has expanded his game near the three-point line. The team needs a point guard to run the offense that can setup Griffin is a position to be successful.

Derrick Rose is not getting any younger but could act as a depth piece. Hayes will bring an aggressive game and toughness to the backcourt.

At 6’5, 215 pounds, Hayes will use his size on both ends of the floor. He has professional experience and will not be afraid to take on larger defenders down low. The idea of Hayes and Griffin in the pick-and-roll game should intrigue the Pistons come draft day.
