Boston Celtics’ Gordon Hayward Wants Out?
Gordon Hayward trade rumors have been in the air for a while now. He is going to opt-in for the final year of his contract for $34.2 million with the Boston Celtics. The money will be an issue but the Celtics could have a trade partner this NBA offseason.
The Indiana Pacers have grown more interested by the day with the idea of trading for Hayward. If Hayward opts in, the Celtics are stuck with that cap charge because they would have to match salary in a trade. With that being said, the Pacers could see value in Hayward, who is from Indianapolis and played college ball at Butler.
Myles Turner makes a ton of sense for the Celtics as they are looking to improve at the center position. At $17.5 million, Turner’s contract would have to be paired with other pieces.
The Celtics might not have many partners for Hayward. If one presents itself, it is important to make work. Indiana could be the best fit for both sides.
