Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Thunder

On the other side of things, the Thunder are going to be an interesting team to watch this offseason. In addition to Schroder, Oklahoma City could look to trade star point guard Chris Paul and talented big man Steven Adams.

This move would make sense for the Thunder. They would acquire a quality veteran role player in Kelly Olynyk and would also add more draft picks.

The No. 20 overall pick could end up being a quality pick for the Thunder. Sam Presti has always found ways to nail draft picks. A 2022 second-round pick doesn’t carry a ton of value, but that could always be used in a trade package.

No team can ever have too many draft picks stockpiled. Schroder isn’t in the long-term plans for the Thunder and this offer from the Heat would be a quality move.

Schroder isn’t going to bring in much more in a trade than this. Oklahoma City could also end up bringing in more draft picks with a Chris Paul or Steven Adams trade. They are in a good position and this move would be a nice step.
