This Heat-Thunder trade sends an intriguing guard to Miami

The Miami Heat came up just short in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. Granted, they had to play games without both Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo, but they are taking away a ton of optimism. This offseason, they will look to make some moves, and one of those moves should be with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Dennis Schroder is a name to keep a close eye on this offseason. While the Thunder could choose to keep him around for another season, Schroder has a lot of trade value. If the Thunder look to move him, the Heat could make a ton of sense.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Thunder, Schroder ended up averaging 18.9 points per game to go along with 4.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds. He shot 46.9 percent from the floor and knocked down 38.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

At 27 years old, Schroder still has one more season left on his deal before hitting free agency. His value has skyrocketed after a huge season with the Thunder. For the Heat, he could come in and immediately provide scoring.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade that would send Dennis Schroder from the Thunder to the Heat and then at why both teams should consider the deal.
