3. Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers’ season did not go the way they expected, and it went far beyond the shutdown. After signing Al Horford and Tobias Harris to huge deals, the Sixers were expected to compete in the East. It turned out to be quite the opposite.
Philadelphia was swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics. The contracts of Horford and Harris are looking like two of the worst in the league. This could be a chance to unload one of those contracts and acquire CJ McCollum in the process.
Horford immediately comes to mind. The Sixers could send Horford and one of their younger players to the Portland Trail Blazers in a deal. This would give Portland a presence down low while adding a three-point threat in Philly.
This season was not a good one for the Sixers, to say the least. They have been linked to many stars this NBA offseason, including James Harden, and they will have to get a deal done for one of them if they want to return to the top of the conference.
