Brooklyn Nets
The Nets were posited as a trade destination for Collins in this piece last week at The Athletic. Brooklyn reportedly was among the teams to show interest in Collins at the 2020 trade deadline, but as we know he stuck in Atlanta.
The hypothetical trade that The Athletic pitched was Collins to Brooklyn in exchange for Jarrett Allen, Rodions Kurucs, and Brooklyn’s 2020 first round pick, via Philadelphia.
Would that be enough to get Collins out of Atlanta? Allen and Kurucs both have untapped potential, and Allen in particular could benefit from a bigger role that he may not see in Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn pick in that hypothetical is via Philadelphia, but it originated via the Clippers, at No. 19.
Whether that’s the outline of an actual trade is debatable, but the Nets have shown interest in Collins in the past, and he’d enter a win-now situation in Brooklyn.
