The Atlanta Hawks found a gem with the 19th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft in John Collins. Collins has already played like a fixture in Atlanta, but it remains to be seen what his longterm future holds.
The 23-year-old was the subject of trade rumors before the pandemic hit around the trade deadline, with multiple teams reportedly interested.
The Hawks will have a decision to make on Collins, who averaged 21.6 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in his third season.
Collins can be a restricted free agent in 2021, and at that point the Hawks would have to weigh the option of letting him depart via an offer sheet.
If the Hawks opt to trade Collins before then, several teams could be interested in the former Wake Forest forward.
Let’s take a look at five teams who should push to acquire John Collins this offseason.
