Rationale for Brooklyn Nets
There is going to be a lot of shot creation ability with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as the centerpieces of the Brooklyn Nets. Now, imagine adding in a dominant interior option like Joel Embiid into the mix?
Similar to how Anthony Davis has changed the game for the Lakers with LeBron James, there wouldn’t be a real way for teams to be able to comfortably match up with the Nets with Embiid.
The pick-and-roll capabilities would be highly impressive with shot creation ability from each level with a dominant roll threat. Embiid would punish mismatches down low while Durant and Irving can put any switch in a blender out on the perimeter— making defenses think twice about switching.
The potential lineup combinations the Nets would be able to put on the floor would be fascinating with Embiid. Going small with Durant at the four spot would put defenses in very difficult positions against talents almost no defender can handle individually.
