Trade Idea from Grant Hughes of B/R

Brooklyn Nets Receive: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, No. 19 pick, 2022 first-round pick

The contract extension Caris LeVert signed with the Nets is set to begin next season— earning him $16.2 million. When factoring in Spencer Dinwiddie ($11.4 million) and Jarrett Allen ($3.9 million), the 76ers would take on $31.5 million in salary.

A deal that would move Joel Embiid to the Nets would involve Brooklyn taking on $29.5 million in salary for the 2020-21 season. Overall, that would result in the 76ers netting about $2 million in salary more for next season than when before a deal.

When factoring in the approximate $2.4 million of salary the No. 19 pick will earn, the 76ers would actually be saving a marginal amount of salary cap room by the end of the offseason in this scenario.
