2. Baron Davis dunk on Andrei Kirilenko against the Jazz
The Golden State Warriors were playing the Utah Jazz in the second round of the 2007 playoffs after shocking the basketball universe by beating the no. 1 seed Dallas Mavericks in six games as an eighth seed.
The Warriors were facing a 2-0 series deficit heading back to Oracle for game 3. Golden State needed their guns to make plays in bunches, in order to avoid being in a massive hole with an 0-3 deficit. That was a no-no, and thankfully, they did respond well.
The Warriors dominated most of the game, and as the contest wound down, the splash plays began to happen in bunches. Baron Davis had a jam no Golden State fan will ever forget on Andrei Kirilenko, one of the game’s best shot-blockers at the time, and really throughout much of his career in the NBA.
The home team was up big when Davis took a handoff from center Andris Biedrins, blew by Deron Williams with a few dribbles and pounded a right hand tomahawk dunk over the outstretched hands of forward Andrei Kirilenko. Oracle went into a frenzy, the decibel levels reached extraordinary heights.
After the dunk, Davis pulled out his jersey and let it go to showboat a little bit to the Jazz, which warranted a technical foul.
