San Antonio Spurs: Grading Each 2018 NBA Free Agency Signing

Signed Marco Belinelli: Two Years, $12 Million

Adding more shooting was obviously something that the Spurs wanted to do this offseason. Marco Belinelli was the guy that they targeted to help bring that.

Belinelli had a great run last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He helped take the 76ers to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Without his shooting and scoring off the bench, the 76ers would not have been nearly as dangerous.

In the 28 games that Belinelli played with Philadelphia in the regular season, he averaged 13.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He shot 49.5 percent from the field overall and knocked down 38.5 percent of his three-point attempts. Belinelli also averaged 12.9 points per game during the postseason.

San Antonio will be getting another bench scorer that will fit into Gregg Popovich’s system nicely. Belinelli played with the Spurs during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons and had two solid all-around years with the team. No one should expect anything different this time around.
