Re-Signed Rudy Gay: One Year, $10 Million

San Antonio made it a point to bring back Rudy Gay this offseason. While he may not be a “replacement” for Leonard, he will likely be the man that will be starting in Leonard’s place. Gay is a quality role player and will do a good job should the Spurs ask him to fill that role.

Last season with the Spurs, Gay ended up averaging 11.5 points per game to go along with 5.1 rebounds. He shot 47.1 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 31.4 percent from the three-point line.

At 31 years old, Gay is going to be asked to handle a large role for the Spurs one way or the other. Gay is going to play big role minutes and will be asked to shoulder a much larger load than he did last year.

Gay is the type of “glue” player that every team needs to have on their roster. He isn’t a lethal scorer anymore, but he is capable of putting up points when needed and he can still play decent defense.

Grade: B+
