DeMar DeRozan‘s heroics led the Chicago Bulls to a thrilling 125-122 victory over the Golden State Warriors during Thursday’s NBA action.

With a three-point play in the final seconds and a crucial jumper earlier, DeRozan’s 33-point performance proved pivotal. Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised DeRozan’s ability to seal games, acknowledging his decade-long excellence as a closer.

“DeMar made the and-one, I thought that was the key shot in the closing few minutes,” Kerr said. “… DeMar is one of the great closers in the game and he has been for 10 years.”

In yet another heart-wrenching defeat, the Warriors faced a setback as Stephen Curry‘s troublesome right ankle gave out once again. Warriors coach Steve Kerr provided little insight into Curry’s condition postgame, only mentioning his foot receiving treatment in an ice bath.

Despite Klay Thompson‘s efforts, including a late 3-pointer that briefly put the Warriors ahead, Curry’s departure with 3:51 remaining dealt a significant blow. Curry managed to notch 15 points before exiting, while Thompson contributed 25 points to the scoreboard.

Nikola Vucevic‘s dominant display, with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, fueled the Bulls’ victory. The win marked the Bulls’ fourth triumph in five games and snapped an eight-game losing streak on Golden State’s home court.

In a game marked by intense back-and-forth, Jonathan Kuminga shone for the Warriors, scoring 19 points. Meanwhile, Draymond Green‘s triple-double performance wasn’t enough to secure victory for his team.

Despite a valiant effort, the Warriors appeared fatigued from their previous night’s game against the Bucks, where they outscored their opponents in a stunning fourth-quarter comeback.

The game wasn’t without controversy, as an altercation involving Bulls assistant coach Chris Fleming nearly marred Chicago’s win. However, there were no disciplinary actions from the league following the incident.

Looking ahead, the Bulls face the Los Angeles Clippers, while the Warriors prepare to host the San Antonio Spurs in their next matchups.
