NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers Updates

According to NBA insider Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors don’t have to attach a draft pick to trade Wiggins. Golden State has fielded player-for-player trade offers for Wiggins, who is making $24.3 million this season.

“Wiggins profiles as the most likely Warrior to be dealt,” Slater wrote in his NBA report. “He’s on the first season of a four-year, $109 million extension. The Warriors have fielded player-for-player offers for Wiggins, according to team and league sources. They wouldn’t have to attach a draft pick to get off his deal.”

The Warriors signed Wiggins to a four-year, $109 million extension in October 2022 after the swingman helped them win the 2022 NBA championship over the Boston Celtics in six games. Golden State lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals and is only 21-25 this season.

The Pacers already made one blockbuster trade this season, acquiring Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors. They are in sixth place in the East.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks are in eighth place in the West. They have been the team most heavily linked to Wiggins, who has career averages of 18.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Warriors.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers Updates

The Pacers would have a “Big 3” of Wiggins, Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton if Indiana’s front office acquired Wiggins, while the Mavericks would have a “Big 3” of Wiggins, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving if Dallas traded for Wiggins.
