The Brooklyn Nets are one of several teams in the NBA that will seriously consider selling ahead of the deadline next week. They are going nowhere fast this season, with a record of 19-28 and are currently on the outside looking in of the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference.

Brooklyn is only one game behind the 10th-seed Toronto Raptors, but it would be hard to envision them making any reason noise in the postseason. They would be better off stockpiling as many assets as possible for the future to help upgrade their core moving forward.

One player who will assuredly be a part of that core is Mikal Bridges. The Nets have zero interest in trading him and aren’t even entertaining calls from teams interested in him. Brooklyn reportedly turned down a huge offer for him, which included four first-round picks.

A player who could be on the move, should the Nets’ asking price be reached, is Dorian Finney-Smith. The Nets have a glut of forwards on their roster and it would behoove them to alleviate that logjam.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Dorian Finney-Smith, NBA Trade Deadline, Brooklyn Nets Updates

However, acquiring Finney-Smith will not be easy. According to Brian Lewis of The New York Post, Brooklyn has already turned down some big offers for the versatile forward. According to a source who spoke to Lewis, the Nets rejected an offer that included two first-round picks for Finney-Smith.

Details weren’t shared about how valuable the first-round picks were, as they could have been highly protected. But, two first-round picks are still two first-round picks; turning that down will lead some people to question just how serious the Nets are about selling ahead of the deadline.

While the asking price is very high, there is a chance someone will get close enough to meeting it for the Nets to pull the trigger on a deal. According to Lewis, the market for Finney-Smith is robust, as the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings are all mentioned as potential suitors.
