Report: Kings Interested In Trading For Nets’ Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neale

According to NBA insider Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings are interested in trading for Brooklyn Nets forwards Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale.

The Nets are open to trading both veterans.

The Kings are looking to upgrade at the forward spot. They are 24-18 on the season, good for seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

The Kings are receptive to trading Harrison Barnes and Kevin Huerter, sources told NBA Analysis Network. The NBA trade deadline is February 8.

Finney-Smith is averaging 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks this season while shooting 40.4% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 81.3% from the free-throw line. He’s making $13.4 million.

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Nets want the equivalent of two first-round picks for Finney-Smith.

O’Neale, who is in the final year of his contract, is averaging 7.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks this season while shooting 37.8% from the floor, 35.6% from 3 and 65.0% from the foul line. He’s making $9.5 million.

The Kings tried to acquire Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors, but Siakam wasn’t interested in re-signing with Sacramento this summer in unrestricted free agency. The Raptors wound up trading Siakam to the Indiana Pacers.

The Kings are seventh in the NBA in points per game and 20th in points per game allowed. Both Finney-Smith and O’Neale are quality two-way players with playoff experience.
