After the Golden State Warriors got blown out by the New Orleans Pelicans last night, Stephen Curry acknowledged that the Dubs might need to shake things up roster-wise.

The Warriors are 17-20. They are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.

“It’s pretty evident that if things stay the same, that’s the definition of insanity, right? Keep doing the same thing but expecting different results,” Curry said. “You get to a point where you’re trying to explain it, trying to figure out what can change specifically that can help us. Those conversations are happening in between games, in film sessions, in the locker room. But it’s headed in the opposite direction. I don’t know what to say about it. We’re not used to this vibe around our team. … It all sucks.”

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Updates

The Warriors are 2-6 over their last eight games. Curry is averaging 26.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.4 blocks on the season while shooting 44.7% from the field, 39.8% from beyond the arc and 92.2% from the free-throw line. He’s the only player on the team averaging 20.0 points.

“Like every NBA season, every organization, that stuff will work itself out,” Curry said. “You can’t allow yourself to be distracted by that because whether you’re at the top of the standings or at the bottom, there’s always rumors swirling, there’s always conversations, it’s just a part of the business. And until anything happens, you can’t get caught up in it because it’ll rob you of the opportunity to play good basketball.”

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Updates

Curry signed a four-year, $215 million extension with the Warriors in August 2021. The two-time MVP is making $51.9 million this season.

The Warriors have been linked to Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam and Atlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray. Curry needs some help since he’s the only player on the roster scoring over 20.0 points per game.
