One NBA writer is proposing that the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors make a blockbuster trade centered around Chris Paul and Pascal Siakam.
Dan Favale of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Warriors and Raptors:
Golden State Warriors Receive: Pascal Siakam
Toronto Raptors Receive: Jonathan Kuminga, Chris Paul, 2026 first-round pick (top-five protection; turns into two seconds if not conveyed), 2028 first-round pick (top-eight protection through 2029; turns into two seconds if not conveyed)
The Warriors acquired Paul from the Washington Wizards this past offseason in the Jordan Poole trade. Paul has played decent with Golden State, but the Warriors are winning the possessions they play without both Paul and Stephen Curry.

Meanwhile, Siakam is a trade candidate since he’s in the final year of his deal and the Raptors haven’t offered him an extension yet.
The Raptors could start Paul, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl, while the Warriors could start Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Siakam and Draymond Green.
“Paul is basically on an expiring contract; his $30 million salary next season is non-guaranteed. I’d be intrigued to see how a fivesome of CP3, Anunoby, Barnes, Poeltl and either Kuminga or Gary Trent Jr. fares,” Favale wrote in his NBA trade rumors column. “But Toronto is far from obligated to keep the 38-year-old against his or its own wishes.”
Paul is averaging 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists this season while shooting 39.9% from the field, 32.8% from beyond the arc and 92.9% from the free-throw line. His salary for next season is non-guaranteed.
Siakam, meanwhile, is averaging 20.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 47.7% from the floor, 19.8% from 3 and 74.5% from the foul line.

“Siakam also helps navigate non-Steph minutes himself,” Favale wrote in his NBA trade rumors story. “Golden State’s spacing won’t be pristine when he plays beside Green or Kevon Looney, but he doesn’t shrink the floor any more than either of them do during their tandem stretches.”
