One NBA analyst believes the Los Angeles Lakers should target Detroit Pistons small forward Bojan Bogdanovic.
Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report thinks Bogdanovic “looks like an obvious target” for the Lakers.
“His outside shot (career 39.4 percent) is the best part of his arsenal, but he also has the size to shoot over smaller defenders and the ball skills to slip past bigger ones,” Buckley wrote. “He’d be a helpful safety net for L.A.’s stars, spreading the floor when they’re on it or assuming control of the offense when they aren’t.”
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Bojan Bogdanovic, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers Updates
The Lakers tried to acquire Bogdanovic from the Utah Jazz in the offseason of 2022. However, the Jazz traded the swingman to the Pistons. Bogdanovic averaged 21.6 points last season while shooting 48.8% from the field, 41.1% from beyond the arc and 88.4% from the free-throw line.
Bogdanovic has career averages of 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 39.4% from 3-point land with the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, Jazz and Pistons.
In October 2022, Bogdanovic signed a two-year, $39 million extension with the Pistons. The veteran is making $20 million this season.
Bogdanovic has yet to play this season due to a right calf strain. Many people around the NBA don’t expect Bogdanovic to spend the entire season on the Pistons since he’s better suited to play for a contender. Detroit has the worst record in the NBA.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Bojan Bogdanovic, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers Updates
It will be interesting to see if the Lakers try to trade for Bogdanovic again. The team needs more shooters around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, so general manager Rob Pelinka may call the Pistons to see what they want for Bogdanovic.
