The New York Knicks have been a subject for many NBA players as a trade destination. The team is currently missing a scoring presence on the inside.

Mitchell Robinson is more of a defensive stopper. Isaiah Hartenstein has not found his spot in the rotation as a reliable scorer. Therefore, the Knicks are urged to pursue a trade for Pacers’ Myles Turner.

In a trade proposed by Bleacher Report, the Pacers trade Turner to the Knicks. In return, Indiana gets back Mitchell Robinson and a 2024 first-round pick. The pick would be a top 10 protected via the Dallas Mavericks.

The trade makes the Knicks more of a force in a competitive Eastern Conference. Alongside Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and R.J. Barrett, Turner gets the team an added scoring punch. Turner averaged 18.0 points and 7.5 rebounds last season. He shot the ball well at 55% from the field.

More importantly, he could also spread the court. Turner shot the three at 37% last year with the Pacers, which is good for a big man. Defensively, Turner would also line up with the Knicks. He was in the top five in total blocks for the season with 140, and he only played in 62 games. The trade won’t make the Knicks championship contenders, but could be a surprise team in the East.

For the Pacers, getting back Robinson is not all that bad. He remains to be a great defensive player but does not provide the offense that Turner would. However, they also get a top-10 pick in the draft next year. Depending on how the team looks, they can get a valuable pick.
