The Los Angeles Clippers are still interested in acquiring Malcolm Brogdon, who is now on the Portland Trail Blazers, and one NBA writer has come up with a way for the Clippers to trade for Brogdon. Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report proposed the following trade idea between the Clippers and Blazers:
Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Malcolm Brogdon
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: PF Marcus Morris Sr., F/C Kobe Brown, SG Amir Coffey, 2024 second-round pick (via Toronto Raptors)
The Clippers almost acquired Brogdon from the Boston Celtics earlier in the offseason before Brogdon’s medical evaluation drove Los Angeles to back out of the trade. Brogdon dealt with a partial tear in the tendon coming out of his right elbow that leads into his forearm last season and the Clippers weren’t confident about the guard’s health after conducting some due diligence.

However, Brogdon is believed to be healthy now and the Clippers are interested in acquiring the former Rookie of the Year from the Blazers, who are in rebuild mode after trading Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Brogdon won the Sixth Man of the Year Award last season. He averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 67 games for the Celtics while shooting 48.4% from the field, 44.4% from 3 and 87.0% from the free-throw line.
Brogdon signed a two-year, $85 million contract extension with the Indiana Pacers in October 2021. He’ll make $22.5 million this season. The 30-year-old wasn’t pleased with how the Celtics handled his elbow injury and was open to getting traded.
